Pulse Drivers extension privacy policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026
This policy explains how the Pulse Drivers extension for Microsoft Edge handles information when authorised taxi company staff sign in, receive document alerts and review driver signup documents. The same practices apply to the Chrome edition. TaxiApps provides the extension and its connected service; the relevant taxi company manages its staff access and driver applications.
Information processed
- Staff account information: company ID, name, email address, role and access permissions.
- Authentication information: the company ID, email address and password entered at login, an authenticator code where enabled, and the session token used for subsequent requests.
- Driver application information: names, contact details, date of birth, address, driver licence identifiers and expiry dates, vehicle details, passenger-seat capacity and signup preferences.
- Uploaded driving licences, private hire licences, insurance certificates and permission letters, including the personal information contained in those documents.
- Review information: document status, approvals, rejection reasons, amended details, messages to drivers and records of staff sign-ins and review actions.
Insurance documents may contain financial information. Staff should only access documents needed to assess the driver's application. The extension does not request payment card details or medical records as separate fields.
How information is used
Information is used to authenticate staff, restrict access to their company, display company branding, identify documents awaiting review, provide alerts and record review decisions. Requesting a permission letter instructs the connected service to email the driver and place the insurance certificate on hold. Review actions and sign-ins are recorded on the service for accountability and security.
Transmission and access
The extension communicates over HTTPS with pulsedriver.taxiapps.co.uk. The server checks account and company permissions for each authenticated request. Driver information is available to authorised staff within the relevant company. Hosting and email infrastructure process information needed to operate the connected service. The extension includes no advertising or third-party analytics code and does not send information to advertising or data-broker services.
The extension does not read or modify the other websites you visit, collect your browsing history, track your physical location, or record your general keyboard or mouse activity.
Browser storage and retention
Local extension storage contains the session token, notification preference and document identifiers used to prevent duplicate alerts. Temporary session storage holds account and company information, the review queue and the selected review. Uploaded document previews are held in memory rather than saved in extension storage. Passwords and authenticator codes are sent for authentication but are not saved by the extension.
Extension storage is restricted to trusted extension contexts. Sign-in expires after 30 days and is renewed during active use; automatic background checks do not renew it. Signing out removes the saved session and cached account and queue information. Disabling an account or removing extension access prevents further authorised access.
Signing out or uninstalling the extension does not delete driver applications or review records from the connected service. Service records are retained as reasonably necessary for the company workflow, security, contractual obligations and applicable legal requirements. See the TaxiApps platform privacy policy for the wider service practices.
Your controls and requests
Staff can sign out or switch accounts in Settings, enable or disable optional desktop notifications, revoke browser notification permission and uninstall the extension. Company administrators manage staff access. Drivers can view document status and upload required replacements through their signup status page.
For access, correction, deletion or other privacy requests about a driver application, contact the taxi company handling that application. For questions about the extension or TaxiApps service, use the TaxiApps contact page, identifying Pulse Drivers and the company concerned. Requests may need to be handled with the relevant company and may be subject to applicable record-retention requirements.
Policy changes
This policy will be updated when the extension's data handling changes. The date above identifies the latest version.
